Isidro Alforque – “Edring” to his close friends and family, or “Sid” to business associates and acquaintances – was born poor and humble in a rural barangay of Naga, Cebu called Cantaoan. He grew up mostly helping his parents in day-to-day chores; together with his father, Nemecio, and brother, Rudy, they cultivated a small farm to grow some crops mainly for family consumption.
Encouraged mainly by his mother, Ines (Nene), he worked his way through school and eventually obtained a college degree in accounting. He immediately got employed by Panasonic Corporation, Philippines as a sales rep and then slowly rose up to become regional supervisor in the Visayas.
After gaining good experience in business and sales, he decided to leave his job and started his own business. He was always a businessman-at-heart and continued to pursue various ventures that left a good legacy for his family today.
He is survived by wife Velma, sons Mitchell, Ritchie, Ryan, and Ronald and their families, and his brothers and sisters.
